Round Table: Design and Recycling

The Veles e Vents building, in the “Marina de València”, has been the scene of the round table.

During the talk, held 14th of December 2022, within the framework of the World Design Capital of Valencia 2022, the leading companies of the Valencian Region have addressed the involvement of industrial design in the circular economy model.

Zumex ECOnscience

A collab with Lowpoly. Introducing an eco-design project based on the reuse of orange peel waste. Thanks to materials research and the possibilities offered by additive manufacturing, Zumex and Lowpoly have explored feasible designs and applications for this new material, created from orange peel. The project, developed in collaboration with the company Lowpoly, is part of Zumex’s Open Innovation and Circularity strategy.

European Parliament: The case of valencian design

Valencian design has been a protagonist in the European Parliamen. The main topic “the role of design in European reindustrialization”. This event was organized by Inmaculada Rodríguez-Piñero, ADCV and the CDICV.
Five Valencian companies Porcelanosa, Zumex, RNB Cosmetics, LZF Lamps and Actiu have intervened to explain how a strategic management of design is a driving force for thier development and have been part of their corporate succes.
José González, Director of Innovation and Creativity at Zumex, has highlighted the fundamental role played by design in the expansion of Zumex, present in a hundred of countries. I have affirmed that innovation is the main driver to its development.

Elisava|Business Mindsets

I was invited at Business Mindsets to talk about “Blue oceans” as business model. I had the chance of explain Zumex case and how my company started as pioneer generating a market from scratch.

Business Mindsets explores new possibilities to think and do business in innovative ways. Applying new perspectives and mindsets to existing businesses or creating new opportunities from them. The role that innovation has played in recent years in the transformation of business has led us to explore blue oceans, agile methodologies, new segments in the bottom of the pyramid, new capitals in the form of information and data, and an infinite network of relationships and perspectives with our value chain.


Design thinking y lean startup: Casos Zumex y General Drones

I was invited by Valencialab to talk about how is our creative process at Zumex. I explained the different steps that we have to cross throw until we finalize in a solution or product. Our creative process is based on “Design thinking” adapted for our needs and our personal interpretation to performance this methodology.

The electric-power assisted “0 plus minus 0” bicycle designed for Yamaha was featured at Yankodesign:




“La Hora del diseño” en Honduras | The design´hour “Honduras”

Group exhibition design formed by young Spanish designers in the field of product design (furniture, household and everyday objects, musical …) and fashion. The even was held in “Centro Cultural Tegucigalpa” Honduras.


Jose González joined with his PSR-E253 designed for Yamaha.


Since 2016,  Zumex is recognized as Innovative SME. The Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness recognizes our innovative character for our activity and investment of resources in this area.

Guest Teacher at Elisava

Jose González has participated as guest teacher for the Master’s Degree in Research for Design and Innovation, degree awarded by Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering.

The topic was about “Developing innovative products at global corporations and SME”. How to use a “Design Thinking method” through practical examples, at both middle and big corporations.



#4SCD organized by the Association of Students of Industrial Design www.aedisevilla.es have invited Jose Gonzalez to talk about “Technology, design and people” to the next generation of product and industrial designers. This event is largest congress of Industrial Design held in Andalusia (Spain) every year.

New position

Zumex Group, a world leader manufacturing and designing technology solutions for squeezed fruits and vegetables, has named José González director of innovation and creativity of the company.

AH A MAY Project will be at Musikmesse

The “zero plus/minus zero” been part of the AH A MAY project, will be exhibited on Yamaha Both at Frankfurt, Musikmesse 2015, which is the biggest music fair in Europe.




Yamaha Corporation and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. will present a joint project in the “Ninth Edition of the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Etienne 2015” from March 12 through 22.

I had the opportunity of design a electric bicycle concept for Yamaha Motor. This design is one of the products for “AH A MAY” project, where the design divisions of the two Yamahas exchanged their design fields, and, without any constraints related to production or commercialization, created designs according to each Yamaha’s method and way of thinking.

NS-SW 1000 was launched at the IFA show

Yamaha has launched the flagship subwoofer NS-SW 1000. This design for the Japanese brand is shown in Berlin during at the IFA show. Here are the most important design features:

Biennale Saint Etienne 2010




In 2010 my projects Folia and Ceronte was selected to represent Spanish design in a International design exhibition  “Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne” (France). This Spanish representation is part of Living Spain Project.

En 2010 mis proyectos Folia y Ceronte fueron seleccionados entre otros para representar el diseño español en la Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne (Francia). Esta representación de España es parte de Living Spain Project.


I have debuted as coolhunter columnist for Trendhal, which is an observatory related with UPV University that collects, analyzes, filters, decodes and interprets the signals that define the current and future trends of the housing sector.

My first article has been about –The right Japanese balance (sp) – it could not be in other way.
